A day off piste, after a hard day on the piste or even a summers day why not try out the new Tauren Spa in Kaprun. Offering a adults only sauna world with 7 different sauna, sauna infussion sessions, outside pools, inside pools a kids world and relax world its a fantastic experience. Access to the spa without sauna world is €16 per adult and €8 per child. Children under 3 are free. This covers 3 hours or for an extra few euros you can stay all day!!!

We loved this experience and its only a 30 minute drive or 50 minute train ride from Mountains View!

Getting from Innsbruck to Mountains View

If you would like a nice scenic route from Innsbruck Airport to Mountains View take the A12 towards Salzburg / Munich and exit at Zilleral. Head towards Zillteral for around 12 miles and exit at Mittersill turn off.

The route takes you over the Gerlos pass with fantastic views over the valley.

You will need either 4X4, winter / snow tyres or snow chains and if it is raining heavily at the bottom I would recommend taking the route around through Kitzbuhel. (the rain may be heavy snow at the top!) This may be the case in May, June, September and October also!

Take the toll road down to Krimml (europes largest waterfall) and head through the valley to Dorf.

If you feel brave take the turn off to Wald on on the top of the mountain - this is an interesting, not for the faint hearted road but is free so its the way Bob drives :-)

New Ski Buses from Central Village Location

The ski bus to Bramberg now leaves the village 50m from the Chalet! This complements the new ski lift in Bramberg!

Wonderful Day

It is the most wonderful day in Austria. The sun is shinning, the snow is melting and we went to Kitzbuhel town for a bit of shopping and lunch. It is only a 30 minute very scenic drive and this was photo of the view coming down the mountain, it doesn't do it justice, but still fantastic!

We woke up this morning to find a couple of inch snow fall over night, and its still falling now!!!

Finally back in Austria

After a busy year we are finally back in Austria, the snow is already here at around 1250m so it looks like its going to be a great season!
